The summer season has certainly ended on a high note for Shannon Airport, after it reported a significant increase in passenger numbers when compared with last year.
Passenger traffic increased 22% and 17% respectively in the months of August and September, in comparison to the same months in 2013.
This great news appears to confirm the overall upward trend of growth in Shannon Airport. Neil Paley, the airport’s CEO, said that the growth in numbers has been registered across all of the territories serviced by the airport, that is the UK, mainland Europe, and its transatlantic destinations.
The new deal agreed between the airport and Ryanair reportedly accounts for a major part of the increase in European traffic.
