A supermarket worker was arrested and charged with forgery for allegedly faking up a medical certificate that said she was diagnosed with coronavirus to get out of going to work. H-E-B employee Kimberly Danner gave the note to store a manager in Odessa, Texas. Management took the fake note so seriously that they publicly released an announcement that one of their employees had covid-19 and it frightened other employees at the company and customers who visit regularly.

Danner’s alleged lies were later exposed and she was arrested on Tuesday evening. Now she faces a criminal offense and has been fired from her job.

A H-E-B spokesman told CBS7: ‘H-E-B confirms the positive coronavirus case announced on April 7 at our Westside Odessa store was not true. We take matters of falsifying documents seriously, and we do not tolerate this activity. The case is in the hands of local authorities. The safety of our Partners and customers remains our top priority.’
