A worker carrying out a coastal survey had to be airlifted to safety earlier today after a wave knocked him over onto rocks.
The rescue was coordinated by the Ballybunnion Sea and Cliff Rescue Service, with the assistance of the Ballybunnion and Glenderry Coast Guards, and the Fenit life boat.
The man, who was working at water level at the time, did not suffer any serious injury but was transferred to Kerry General Hospital as a precaution.
