Surviving your first week back: “How was your Christmas?” Made simple with a sign

Millions of us return to work this week following a period of festive food, drinks, fry-ups and lie-ins. For many, it’s the first time in about a week that we actually know what day it is…

Getting back to reality is never easy, especially after a prolonged rest that we repeatedly tell our colleagues “wasn’t long enough”, and the last thing we want to do is engage in repeated small talk about the holidays. It just adds to the pain of being back in work again.

Popular Facebook page “Funny or Die”, shared an image yesterday which has gone viral, summing up how to creatively and efficiently tell your colleagues about your holidays without even opening your mouth.

It starts with the basics “I don’t have any New Years resolutions”, before referencing the new Netflix hit show ‘Making a Murderer’, and then lays into a colleague – “Linda”- warning her not to engage in small talk and to think of their three week hangover.

The sign ends on a harsh note, perhaps summing up some of our feelings as we return to the office.

“I’m one unnecessary question away from hanging myself in the break room.”

“GOOD DAY TO YOU LINDA.”

Let me get myself into Microsoft Word to make my own…
