One of the main suspects in the vanishing of Madeleine McCann has been denied parole for his sentence in a separate case.
The convicted sex offender, 45-year-old Christian Brueckner, is currently serving a seven-year sentence for the abduction, rape, and torture of an elderly American woman in 2005.
Mr. Brueckner, while officially a suspect in the McCann case, has not been charged with any crime related to it.
Authorities believe that he would go on to commit further offences if he were released.
