A suspected drone strike has obliterated an oil depot in the port city of Sevastopol, in Russia-occupied Crimea. The fire continues to burn, and local officials have said it will be extremely complicated to put out.
Four oil tanks caught fire after the strike. Crucially, Sevastopol is the home of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, which was crippled last year following the sinking of its flagship cruise missile vessel Moskva.
Ukraine is currently conducting surgical strikes on high-value Russian targets to cripple Russia’s defensive capabilities, ahead of an expected Ukrainian counter-offensive.
