There were some rather strange scenes on the streets of Dublin yesterday afternoon after the Gardai were called in to deal with a swan wandering around the city centre.

The which was clearly lost was subsequently taken in by Gardaí when members of the public tried to contain him on Dame Street area outside Dublin Castle. The swan was arrested by Gardaí who then put him into the back of the garda van.
He was later released back into the Grand Canal thankfully unscathed from the incident.
