Sydney tragedy: Tina Cahill will be in court later today (Irish time) charged with the murder of her fiancé David Walsh




The news that the entire country is talking about today is the tragic news that broke late Friday night from Sydney.

30-yr-old David Walsh died from stab wounds to his neck following some sort of altercation in the Sydney suburb of Padstow.

Irishwoman 25-yr-old Cathrina (Tina) Cahill has been charged with murdering her fiancé David Walsh by stabbing him in the neck.

According to neighbours, a fight broke out between several people in the house where the couple were staying, which resulted in the Wexford man ending up on the footpath outside the property.

At approximately 1:20pm Irish time yesterday, emergency services responded to a call at the property where they discovered David Walsh outside the property with stab wounds to his neck.

A 36-yr-old man was also arrested by police but it’s understood he has since been released from custody uncharged and is said to be helping police with their enquiries.

Paramedics were unable to revive David Walsh and he died a short time later.

David Walsh is said to be from Enniscorthy, Co Wexford and has three daughters and is the son of a well known builder in the area.

Tina Cahill will appear in court charged with the Wexford man’s murder later today Irish time or possibly the very early hours of Monday morning Irish time.

Wexford locals are calling the murder “an absolute tragedy”.
