Gardaí warn of dangerous driving conditions this morning as a light snowfall in the north east of the country have left roads slippy.
There was a heavy fall of snow on the N2 Dublin to Monaghan road which left overnight and early morning driving conditions are described as hazardous.
Met Eireann forecaster David Rogers said Sunday’s forecast: “As a whole it will be an overcast day with outbreaks of rain or drizzle in many places. It will turn milder though at that stage, going into Sunday night.”
Highest temperatures today will hit about 10 to 12 degrees with gusty west to southwest winds.
Monday will have strong winds or even storms, with the potential for weather warnings.Temperatures are said to take another plunge mid-week.
