Taking the P*ss in Waterford – Dungarvan has no public toilet as it’s not in the budget, yet 20 new jobs for “progressive” climate change gets support




Waterford County Council are making a lot of noise around the recent “Best Place to Live” awarded to it by the Irish Times. So, to promote this award, the County Councillors are proposing to splash €100,000 in 2022 to promote the Irish Times award.

Waterford County Councillors also gave the green light to fund a new office of 20 full time, civil servants to push their “progressive “ Council budget in 2022.

According to the /Waterford News and Star, Mr Walsh, Waterford city and County Council CEO said “Climate change locally will be driven by a significant team and will lead to the creation of an office of 20 that will engage in a whole suite of activities across the topic”.

Last week, a county councillor in Dungarvan said he has been campaigning for years to have a public toilet in the very popular seaside town. The councillor was told by the Town Manager and Director of Services, Kieran Kehoe that “no funding source” was available for public toilets in Dungarvan.
