Pharma companies are reportedly already working on a new vaccine to deal with the emergent Omicron variant.
These new vaccines, which of course supersede the previous ones and must be given to everyone in the world before the next variant pops up, will be available within weeks. These new batches will likely prove to be as ineffective as the current ones, but people will take them anyway.
This announcement ties in neatly with the ongoing cycle of new variants-new vaccines, from which pharma companies will profit handsomely for the foreseeable future.
Moderna for example has a “comprehensive strategy to anticipate new variants of concern” so new rounds of vaccines can be sold on a regular basis.
