Tanaiste says he did not commit an offence in regards to GP contract leak and asks public not to judge him on his mistake

The Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has said that he has not committed an offence and has asked the public not to judge him on his mistake.

Speaking to RTE’s Prime Time programme, Varadkar said that he is willing to speak to Gardai over the GP contract leak but reiterated that he has not committed an offence.

He went on to state that it was a mistake to pass on information to his friend Dr Maitiú Ó Tuathail, but I’ve since apologised for that.

The Tanaiste told the programme that he doesn’t judge people in their worst moments and everyone makes mistakes at some point in their career.

He added that I judge people on what they try to do, and that’s all is ask of everyone else.
