The Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has said that the country is nowhere near lifting Level 5 restrictions but indicated that schools could open next month.
Speaking in the Dail today, the Tanaiste said Covid-19 numbers were far to high to consider lifting restrictions but it didn’t mean that schools could be open in February.
Varadkar said that no official decision has yet been made, but restrictions will remain in place for sometime to come.
The Tanaiste added that some construction sites could also open next month as they’re not supposed to be closed during normal Level 5 restrictions.
