Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and British PM Boris Johnson have agreed to meet to discuss the upcoming Brexit event, and also exchange opinions on the Northern Ireland ‘backstop’.
No date has yet been arranged, but both leaders are said to be keen to meet and discuss their views on these issues.
One fundamental difference remains though, as Boris Johnson would have no problem abolishing the so-called ‘backstop’ if he gets his preferred ‘no-deal’ Brexit over the line. Leo Varadkar is likely to take a hardline on the backstop issue.
