Taoiseach refuses to discuss the ever-growing bill for the new children’s hospital being built in Dublin

The unelected Taoiseach appointee Micheal Martin has today refused to discuss the ballooning bill for the new children’s hospital being built in Dublin.

The controversial facility, the most expensive medical facility ever built anywhere in the world, has so far swallowed €1.1bn since construction began six years ago, against an original budget of a comparatively modest €650m. To put this in perspective, China managed to build a 1,500-bed hospital in five days during the pandemic.

No one seems to know when the hospital will be completed, nor how much will it eventually cost, though some estimates say that a mammoth €2bn+ is not beyond the realm of possibility at this stage. No satisfactory explanation has ever been given as to where the money is going.
