The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that a decision on the latest Covid-19 restrictions will not be made until next week.
In an announcement made this evening the Taoiseach said that Ireland has yet to see a surge cases and any decision to lift certain restrictions has to be carefully considered.
The Taoiseach added that although the social distancing measures have been working, he said there is still a long way to go in the fight against the virus.
He added that the public must remain patient and the flattening of the curve is essential at this stage.
