The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that he doesn’t subscribe to a zero covid strategy as it would damage the economy.
Speaking on RTE’s Today programme, the Taoiseach said that the virus is damaging economies across the world and he believes taking a zero covid strategy would further damage the Irish economy.
He said that it is important that we try and manage the situation by protecting lives as well as peoples livelihoods.
He added that the Government does have a plan to deal with the pandemic but we also must adapt as the situation changes.
