The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that the public has to knuckle down and get back to basics in order to stop the spread of Covid-19.
Speaking about the recent rise in cases the Taoiseach said people need to get back to the basics such as mask wearing and hand hygiene.
Martin said the given the rise in cases it is a cause for concern and the pandemic situation has taken a turn to a negative.
He also urged those who are not yet vaccinated to get their Covid-19 vaccine.
