It’s off: Taoiseach’s trip to Washington D.C. not looking likely as virtual meeting is expected to take place

The Taoiseach’s planned visit to the White House is looking less likely this evening as it is reported that alternative measures are being looked at.

According to RTE News, the White House and the department of the Taoiseach are looking at alternatives with a virtual meeting between Mr Martin and President Biden expected to take place on March 17th.

The news comes after a White House official confirmed that they would check about the annual St Patrick’s Day visit.

Speaking about the visit on Thursday, White House Jan Psaki said that there are currently limited events at the White House but she was happy to check about an event that usually happens in March.
