Gardai in Co Offaly have confirmed that a teenager has been seriously injured following a road traffic incident this afternoon.
It is understood that the teenager aged on his late teens was injured after he was struck by a jeep on the Church Road in Tullamore, at approximately 2:15pm.
Gardai say the injured teenager was taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore.
They also say the driver of the jeep was uninjured in the incident.
