Teenager rescued after cliff jumping off Co Waterford coast

After having trouble jumping over a cliff into the water in County Waterford, an adolescent was safely saved, reports Breaking News.

The teenagers encountered trouble at the well-known swimming location of Tramore Guillamines on Saturday night, prompting the notification of emergency services.

Soon after 5 o’clock in the evening, someone in the public set off the alarm.

Within minutes, the Irish Coast Guard’s Rescue 117 helicopter, the RNLI, and ambulances arrived on the scene, reports Breaking News.

It is believed that one of the young people leaped from the cliff at the well-known diving location.

Frank Quinlan, a local Fine Gael councillor, was present when the drama started.

Three young people were “on the rocks across from Newtown Cove and were contemplating jumping off the rocks into the water,” according to Cllr. Quinlan, reports Breaking News.

Eventually, one of the boys leaped into a space. There was a lot of froth in the water in the region, which is also known as the washing machine. I could see the poor boy was in trouble the moment he leaped.

“As soon as I saw him climbing up onto the rocks, I rang the Coast Guard, Emergency Services, and the RNLI, who came within minutes.”

The adolescent was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford (UHW) to get treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, reports Breaking News.
