A 19-year-old teenager with Down Syndrome was found walking along a busy motorway in Dublin, after going missing during a trip to a local swimming pool.
It is understood that the young man was part of a 13-strong group with intellectual disabilities, who were accompanied by five carers working for a Dublin service for mentally disabled people.
The teenager was somehow left behind at the swimming pool, and was later found by chance by two passing Gardai.
The service has launched an investigation into the incident.
