Temperatures set to plummet as Autumn weather begins to bite

Met Eireann has warned that temperatures are set to plummet over the coming days as Autumn weather takes hold.

Today, Tuesday, will see rain across some western areas, with showers spreading eastwards throughout the day. Daytime temperatures will reach around 12-14C, but will sink to as low as 4C by night.

The outlook is for a week of cool and unsettled weather, and early predictions of a washout weekend.
