In a rather bizarre and somewhat terrifying story, authorities in Germany have arrested a 54-year-old doctor and subsequently charged him with negligent bodily harm after he declared a 92-year-old woman deceased.
It is understood that the doctor could face a large fine or serve a prison sentence if he is found guilty, according to reports the doctor in question allegedly pronounced the terminally-ill woman dead in March after a staff member at the woman’s retirement home found her not breathing and without a pulse. It is then believed the woman was taken to a nearby funeral home later that evening, where an employee heard a screaming coming from the refrigeration room and discovered much to their shock that the elderly woman was still alive.
However the unnamed woman tragically died two days later in hospital from a heart complaint which is thought not to have been related to the terrifying incident.
