Tesco have issued a warning to it’s Irish consumers after they received information alerting them about a hoax text currently being circulated.
The new scam which claims customers can win vouchers for the supermarket if they download a video message. Tesco say they have issued the warning after they received a number of complaints from customers who say they received text messages with a link to a photo message.
It is understood the link re-directs to a spam image, which promises $500 in Tesco GiftCards. An Tesco spokeswoman a statement confirming the hoax. The spokeswomen said: “It has come to our attention that an SMS is being circulated with a link to a spam competition.
“Tesco Ireland does not have any association with this company and we had no involvement in this competition. “We encourage anyone who receives this message to delete the message immediately.”
