Mixed reactions as Tesco issues an apology after customers were left being unable to buy sanitary products

Tesco have apologised after a number of people were unable to by sanitary products in Wales.

It is understood that the apology comes after a woman was unable to by sanitary products whilst visiting her local Tesco store over the weekend.

The incident which caused widespread criticism on social media apparently occurred after it was confirmed that stores in the country are not permitted to sell non essential items during its fire firebreak lockdown.

However a number of customers were left confused after the woman pointed out that she was unable to buy sanitary products as they were deemed non essential.

The incident which has since been rectified by Tesco, prompted the Welsh Government to intervene who said sanitary products are essential.

They added that stores are allowed to sell items that would be sold in pharmacies.
