The Taoiseach Micheal Martin must be reeling tonight after what has been described by some as his lifelong ambition to present shamrock to the President of the United States in the White House on St Patrick’s Day all went out the window.
Martin tested positive for Covid on Wednesday night and wasn’t able to make it to the White House in person for a second successive year.
Joe Biden, his usual error-prone self, held a virtual meeting with Martin for a second year in a row.
The two appeared to lick up to one another like there was no tomorrow with both centring their congratulations on their respective responses to the Ukraine conflict.
