Care workers and nurses account for the biggest share of those on duty today. Even in this, the most unprecedented of years will see these people still working to ensure that the rest of us can enjoy Christmas 2020 as best as possible.
A large number of chefs, kitchen assistants, homeless charity workers, nurses, doctors, carers, firefighters, gardai and hundreds of clergy will all be on duty today.
