Gardai discovered the body of 73-year-old Jimmy Boyle, who went missing 5 weeks ago ago, yesterday afternoon about 1km from his home in Rathmullan in Co.Donegal.
The scene was sealed off for forensic examination for the entire day but has been reopened to the public this morning.
Mr Boyles death is not yet known but it’s believed a post mortem examination will take place in Letterkenny Hospital later today.
Gardai have thanked the public for sharing the gentleman’s image on social media and have now asked for his family to be given privacy.
