Annual inflation hit 7.8% in May, according to the Central Statistics Office.
It appears as though the government doesn’t care what’s happening to the country or Irish people as this is the highest rate in 38 years and up 7% in April.
The Harmonised Consumer Price Index, which compares inflation here to other countries in Europe, was 8.3%.
Fuel costs were once again the main contributor.
Electricity bills are now 41% higher than a year ago. Gas bills increase by 61%. Fuel oil at home is just over 102% higher.
