The government “have gutted the health service” – In 2001, Ireland had 1 million less people and 8,445 more hospital beds than we have today

Day after day, we are told by the media and political elites that Covid-19 is the cause of all our problems in the health service.

However, research carried out by Aontu reveals that in 2001, Ireland had 1 MILLION less people and 8,445 MORE HOSPITAL BEDS than we have today. Think about that for a moment.

The Aontu leader, Peadar Toibin on his facebook page calls out the truth;

“In 2001 Ireland had 22,658 hospital beds,
in 2021 we have 14,213.
In that 20 years, our population grew by 1m people, or 25%.
There is massive pressure on our health service.
When the Government say “we are where we are”, its because they have gutted the Health Service.
Now is the time to build in hospital capacity!”
