The litany of disasters associated with Irish Water grows longer by the month.

Now, the doomed utility is begging the Government for an additional investment of €300m, to make up for the lack of payment of water charges by its customers.

According to figures released, the disastrous Irish Water expects a shortfall of about this year alone.

Water charges were suspended after a concerted and well-organised popular revolt, and it would be foolish for any government to bring them back.
