A man in Tasmania had the chance to get the photo op of his life, after spotting a giant Huntsman Spider attempting to devour a small possum inside his ski lodge in Mount Field National Park.
Huntsman Spider are large arachnids whose diet usually consists of birds, lizards, a small rodents. But this time, a wayward Huntsman certainly took on large prey and seemingly won.
The man, named as Adam Latton, filmed the spider dragging the unfortunate possum before consuming it.
Huntsman Spiders, while big and intimidating, are largely harmless to humans, as they’d much rather scurry away than attack in the presence of people.
