According to the ICCL Twitter account and website, a new role has just been advertised attracting a salary of €30,000 to €40,000 working as an “Equality and Hate Crime” policy officer. The job description includes the development of policy for equality and hate crime, growing the development of the Coalition Against Hate Crime, lobbying government, statutory bodies, academia, legal community and civil society organisations.
The Irish Council for Civil Liberties, is a non profit group involved in high profile activism such as divorce, same sex marriage, immigration, lgbt and abortion.
ICCL were in the news for receiving €50,000+ from the controversial George Soros Funded Open Society Foundation before the abortion referendum.
Their 2019 annual report shows ICCL received just €7,508 and €36,176 in membership fees whilst receiving €460,131 from mostly Irish and foreign agencies. Total expenditure for 2019 amounts to €501,155.
