The last day of campaigning sees Sinn Fein under fire from Fianna Fail and Fine Gael over Paul Quinn apology

It’s the last day of campaigning before the moratorium that will happen tomorrow.

Sinn Fein soared in the polls earlier in the week but came under major pressure from both Fianna Fail and Fine Gael over Connor Murphy’s apology to Paul Quinn’s mother.

Fianna Fail are accusing Sinn Fein of politicking because it “took them 13 years” to apologise to Bridge Quinn, Paul Quinn’s mother who buried her son in 2007.

Northern Ireland’s Finance Minister Connor Murphy has apologised for his comments that Paul Quinn was involved in criminality, but it appears that the whole debacle has taken a lot of wind out of Sinn Fein’s sails this week.

Tonight will see a final leaders’ debate between 5 other parties.
