
Figures just released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) reveal that the unemployment rate fell during the month of June, thus indicating a second drop in as many months.
The CSO report says that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate at the end of June, was 6.3%, down from 6.4% the previous month.
The figure compares favorably with an 8.3% rate in June 2016.
Nevertheless, the unemployment rate remains high when compared with other European countries like Germany or the Netherlands.
