One of the countries leading charities has launched a new campaign that is asking people to donate €5 to help homeless families this Christmas.
The St Vincent de Paul #5GiveAFiver campaign, is being advertising the cause in the hope people nationwide will donate the small sum to reach their goal of €5,000 to help struggling families and children in emergency accommodation in Dublin.
The charity say small fee which is equivalent to the price of a pint or a coffee could help many families.
It is understood there are more than 1,000 families in emergency accommodation in the capital this Christmas.
