The Resistance spreads: Hundreds gather in Co. Waterford to oppose migrant plantation opening in Lismore #IrelandisFull




Hundreds of protestors gathered in the Co. Waterford town of Lismore to oppose the establishment of yet another migrant plantation in their community.

Almost 70 people claiming to be asylum seekers under the international protection ploy will be planted in the town within the next week while dozens more are expected to be dumped in the town in weeks and months ahead.

As per usual the community was not consulted by the government regarding the plantation local residents and business people have expressed unhappiness about the way the situation has developed and what they have described as a lack of consultation between the Government and the community RTE reported.

Lismore is a picturesque, historic town with a population of just around 1,400 people and it is feared that character of the town could quickly be destroyed with significant numbers of migrants being planted there as has happened in Killarney.
