The Taoiseach says all going well, Ireland will hopefully be able to return to Level 3 after the six weeks of lockdown are up

People up and down the country are completely fed up with the lockdown, regardless of whether they agree with it or not. Now the Taoiseach has thrown his 2 cents in for good measure.

Nothing is guaranteed, nothing is definite, but as it stands, Ireland will finally see they so-called “draconian” lockdown measures lifted on December 1st.

The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that he hopes the country will be able to return to Level 3 restrictions on December 1st.

Speaking following the announcement of Level 5 restrictions, Martin said he hope’s the nation will be in place to return to level 3 in six weeks time.

However he did reiterate that such a scenario will only happen if everyone pulls together.

The Taoiseach said that it has been proven that tougher restrictions have worked particularly in three counties in the past.

He added that when we leave this phase of restrictions we will have to monitor the situation closely and see how long we can stay at a lower level.

The Taoiseach also said that we should only stay in lockdown as long as necessary and not for a second longer.

Martin’s comments come as he stated that he expects the virus to be with us for the entirety of 2021.
