The reputation of the erstwhile respected charity Console now lays in tatters, largely due to the actions of the man at the top, Paul Kelly, who allegedly treated the organization’s funds as his own piggy bank. Foreign trips, designer clothes, rugby tickets, and many other items were allegedly acquired with money embezzled from the charity.
Today, assets linked to Mr. Kelly and his wife will be listed in court, in an effort to discern what was paid with charity funds.
Paul Kelly himself stepped down from his position as CEO some days ago, and it’s said now to be residing in a psychiatric ward.
