There’s serious questions being raised regarding legality of airport welfare inspectors

Each week seems to bring more government regulations. Serious questions regarding the legality of ‘welfare inspectors’ at Irish airports have been raised by TDs and the Data Protection Commission (DPC).

Many people are querying whether people can ask them questions such as where they’re going when they enter an airport.

According to RTE, the DPC expressed their ‘serious doubts’ about the legality of the inspectors, who were deployed to airports to enforce the government travel ban on those availing of the Pandemic
Unemployment Payment or other jobseekers’ allowances.
