In the near future, a temporary home for asylum seekers will open in Dublin’s Ballsbridge, reports Breaking News.
The former nursing home St. Mary’s is reopening as a 40-bed facility that can accommodate up to 220 people.
Families are supposed to stay there for a minimum of a year.
Local Labour Councillor Dermot Lacey told Newstalk that they will be interacting with the community.
“It is a long-established residential facility, and it was recently revamped,” reports Breaking News.
“We will aim to make sure that local communities are kept informed and kept engaged where possible with the new residents. They will be part of the community once they are living here,” Cllr Lacey said, reports Breaking News.
