This government is a joke – Apple pulls its multi million euro Galway data centre as planning permission was taking far too long

You really couldn’t make it up. The utter incompetence of our government sees one of the biggest companies in the world pull out of its plans to build a multi million euro facility in Galway.

Apple has announced today that it’s no longer going ahead with its plans for a superstructure data centre in Athenry.

The blow comes after planning permission was delayed and delayed and delayed.

Locals are said to be both disappointed and fuming at the ludicrous concept that the Irish government again can’t be trusted to do something right and follow through on their promises.

How can we trust them on anything, one local Galway man posted.

All in all the data centre would have created thousands of jobs and brought in millions of euro both locally and nationally.

Neither will happen now thanks to the government.
