Thousands gather in Dublin and Cork to protest against rising homelessness

Thousands of people gathered in Dublin and Cork today to protest against the ever-rising homelessness across Ireland.

The latest official figure released by the Government indicates that 10,514 people are categorized as ‘homeless’,  though the true figure is likely to be far higher.

Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy narrowly survived a motion of no confidence, mostly due to the abstention of the ‘opposition’ party Fianna Fail.
