Thousands take to the streets of Dublin to support nurses’ strike action

Thousands of people have taken to the streets of Dublin this afternoon in support of the recent nurses strike action.

In a public rally which started at the Garden of Remembrance, the public came out in force to support the action.

The large crowds of people descended on Dublin, to voice their disapproval at the Government for not granting the INMO’s call for an overall pay increase within the sector.

Speaking about the large show of support, the INMO say the rally clearly demonstrated that the public are fully behind the nurses unions and it sent a clear message to the Government.

The rally came ahead of further strike action next week, which will see some 37,000 nurses take to the streets in protest over pay and retention in the sector.
