A 36 year old man and a 50 year old woman have been arrested in Co Cavan following the discovery 143kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €2.8m yesterday.
The arrests come after both the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Revenue’s Customs Service led a joint operation.
Both the man and the woman are currently being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 2006 at Ballyconnell Garda Station.
Meanwhile a 46-year-old man was also arrested during a follow-up operation and is currently being detained in Cavan Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 2006.
