Three Garda officers have been praised for their heroics after they rescued a man the Corrib Canal in Galway.
According to The Irish Sun newspaper, the three officers managed to rescue the man after he fell into the water at O’Brien’s Bridge at approximately 2:10am.
The Irish Sun reports that the three Garda officers managed to pull the man to safety after members of the public threw him a buoy.
It is understood that the man was taken to hospital for treatment on minor injuries and pneumonia.
Gardaí say the man fell into the water due to strong winds caused by Storm Ciara.
