Three Ireland customers to be refunded after company took double payments due to technical error

It has emerged that up to 8,000 Three Ireland customers may have been charged twice for their monthly mobile phone bills.

The operator has contacted all affected customers, and will issue refunds within the next few days.

According to Three Ireland, the mistake arose from an international bank which sent requests for payment twice for some customers.

The operator has apologised, and confirmed that refunds are on the way.
