Three people are in hospital today, after getting stung by jellyfish while swimming off the Galway coast over the last few days.

The swimmers were reportedly stung by Lion’s Mane jellyfish, whose venom can be deadly in susceptible individuals.
A number of swimming events have been cancelled in the area until the waters are deemed safe again.
