Authorities in the US State of California have confirmed that at least three people have died following cliff collapse near a public beach.
It is understood that three people died and a number of other people were injured after part of the cliff collapsed on top of beachgoers at Grandview Surf Beach, north of San Diego.
Police say one person was pronounced dead at the scene, whilst two others sadly passed away in hospital a short time later.
It is also believed that two others were seriously injured following the collapse and a search and rescue mission is currently ongoing.
The collapse is thought to have occurred due to the rapid erosion of the sand stone at the cliffs.
